Who is the dog food basics course for?

This course is designed for beginners interested in adding fresh food to their dog's diet.

If you have experience in nutrition and/or DIY raw feeding you may want to consider the professional course.

There are no prerequisites or scholarships.

What format is the course in?

Our courses are all currently in written format only but we are working to add some audio and video portions in the future! For now, if you'd prefer it as audio there are many apps available that will read the coursework to you.

How are the exams done?

There are several different units, after each unit you'll have a quiz to take to test your understanding. At the end of all of the units, you will have an exam. Quizzes and the exam are online and are multiple choice.

How long is the course?

Approximately 30-40 hours of coursework.

Am I required to participate in the DIY workshop?

No it is not required for the dog parent nutrition course. However, we recommend attending the workshop if you plan on making your dog's food.

The workshop is conducted by our instructor and course author, Kay Stewart. Participation gives you direct access to ask any questions you may have and gives you hands-on experience with the guidance of a professional.

Do you offer payment plans?

At this time we do not offer payment plans.

Are there any additional required course materials?

No, everything required is included. There is additional recommended reading but not required to complete the course.

How long do I have to complete the course?

You have 1 year from the time of purchase to complete your course. If you need an extension you can sign up for the Feed Real Membership ($9/month) which will give you access to the course as long as you have the membership.

Is the course refundable?

No, due to the nature of a digital product, all sales are final. Courses are non-transferable.

Are there any course discounts?

No. We may occasionally offer promotional discounts.

What is the difference between the pro course and dog parent course?

The dog parent course is designed for beginners. It is less academic in language and covers the basics of anatomy, digestion, nutrients, and meal preparation.

You will receive a badge of completion that is different from the pro course but you will not be able to include the CPCN acronym with your name. This course is not RACE-approved for CEUs.

For a more in-depth education please consider the professional canine nutrition course.
